Question: How do i know if my English Level is high enough for a particular course?
Ans: You will take a placement test on your first day of school. It will determine your specific levels for grammar and conversation.

Question: What is the best way to apply?
Ans: The easiest way to apply is with our online application form.. This is a secure form. Applications are normally processed within one business day. It is very easy, if you follow the basic procedures.

Question: What is the Admission Procedure?
Ans: To apply for admission, follow these steps:
  • Complete our online application form.
  • Send us the completely filled, duly signed admission application form and xerox of your previous educational transcripts either by fax or mail.
  • Send your fees to King Edward College Of Management & Technology. .
  • We send a Letter of Acceptance. If you plan to study longer than 6 months, you can use the Letter of Acceptance to apply for a Study Permit. People from some countries also need Temporary Resident Permits (Visitor Visas), even if they will study less than 6 months.
  • You take a placement test on your first day of school. After the test, we explain the important policies and procedures, as well as general information about the city. You begin classes the next day!

Question: When should I apply?
Ans: We usually answer this question by saying “As soon as possible”. We like to have as much time as we can to arrange your classes and home stay. You might also need some time to reserve a flight, or obtain a visa. There is not, however, a firm deadline for any given level. If there is a space when you apply, you will probably be accepted.

Question: Should I apply through an agency?
Ans: Most students are able to easily complete the admission procedure without an agent. If you need help with a visa application or a bank transfer, you can ask us. You can ask an agent for help though.

Question: How can I send my tuition fee to KEC?
Ans: The best way to send money is by bank transfer, from your bank to ours. This method is quite fast and safe.
  • Bank Transfers (Electronic Funds Transfers)
    Fees can also be paid directly from your bank account to ours. To arrange a bank transfer, Your bank need to know our bank account number and SWIFT Code. Email us to get our bank information.
  • Bank Drafts
    You may also send a bank draft order by mail or courier to this address.

Question: What is KEC Tuition Refund Policy?
Ans: If a student is subsequently refused a student visa by the Canadian Embassy, or refused an exit visa by his/her own country, the student should:
  • Submit to the school the original visa rejection notice for tuition refund.
  • Per the request of student, the original rejection notice will be returned with the refund to student.
  • Tuition refunds will be made in accordance with the guidelines established by the Ministry of Advanced Education of the Province of British Columbia.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that sufficient funds are available to support his or her application.

Question: What is the climate like in Vancouver?
Ans: Vancouver has the most pleasant climate in Canada! Summer days are usually long, warm and sunny. Nights are cool and clear. Spring and fall are comfortable, with moderate temperatures and occasional rain. Rain is more common from November to February. Snow can sometimes occur briefly, during December and January.

Question: How much does home stay accommodation in Vancouver cost?
Ans: Home stay accommodation costs CAD$25 per night. This includes all meals. There is no tax for home stay accommodation.

Question: How much do apartments in Vancouver cost?
Ans: The total expenses for shared accommodation in the area of Vancouver, Surrey, Delta apartments/basements would be approximately the same as a home stay. One bedroom apartments/Basement cost CAN$600 to CAD$1200 per month, depending on size, quality and location.

Question: Is Medical insurance mandatory for students who are studying at KEC?
Ans: Visa students/Landed immigrants are not eligible for coverage through the Medical Services Plan (MSP) of BC until the end of the first three months of stay after arrival in BC. Applications should be made before the date of eligibility to allow time for processing.
Students are strongly advised to have medical insurance from a private insurance company during the first three months before becoming eligible for the B.C. Medical Service Plan. King Edward College of Management & Technology will process this temporary medical insurance for new students during Orientation.
